Is this Color Factory?
« on: October 25, 2011, 09:18:54 AM »
This is a 1982 Honda CB750F Super Sport I'm looking at... is it possible for this color to be original? The current owner (the second) claims Honda made 5000 of these in 1982, but I can find no reference to it on the internet.

Opinions?

It appears to have an extra cam installed?  I like yellow. Not factory, they had lots of stripes on the black and silver offerings.  Looks like an attempt to copy a 1975 CB400F scheme.

I have never seen one. Seems like if it was a stock color they would have still put some side cover emblems or markings on them to advertise the model and engine size,or stripes or something to jazz it up a little overall. Not 100 per cent sure though  ???.

It is a DOHC but I couldn't figure out how to post a photo on that forum... sorry.

I think you're right about the color though... any other opinions?

I did notice the front fender was silver, you'd think if the factory did go with a few in yellow they would have painted the front fender the same color?

It's a nice bike... only 7000 kms.

No, that was not stock.  Especially with that gaudy big decal on the tank.  And, as pointed out, no other markings, stripes, ID, etc.  Recovered seat, too.

Nice bike, though.

He's lying, for sure, then.
Mint would be just as manufactured.  It sure ain't that.

MINT-  Something you get at a fine restaurant after dinner.  ;D  8)
PS-Around here that price would be considered high for that bike/model
