Saw them about 6 or 7(?) years ago too, awesome then.
Saw them back in the 70s a couple of times when they were a pub band.  8)

We went and saw them here in Darwin at the Botanic Gardens Ampitheatre a couple of weeks ago.
It was shoulder to shoulder by the time Cold Chisel came on.

As soon as they started playing, there was a distinct smell of smoke in the air and it wasn't Peter Jackson cigarettes either.
Some things will just never change I guess, and with all of the security guys and the police presence, some people still managed to bring their hooter in with them.

Ian Moss was brilliant as usual and Barnsey can still pump it out along with the rest of group.
Those boys still know how to do it well and do it loud.  8)

Saw Mossy a couple of months ago doing an acoustic gig locally, brilliant as ever.... Haven't seen Chisel since Festival Hall in Brissy around 1980..... ;D

I saw them at Bathurst (Easter Motorcycle TT) on my first pilgrimage to the mountain in 1983 on my first K1. Their support act was the Choir Boys, and it was superb. The concert was held at the Skyline Ampitheatre, basically, they just fenced off an area of grassy paddock and employed the "Bob Jones Karate School" thugs with big muscles and white T shirts (and not a lot of intelligence) for security, strutting around like peacocks.

There were a couple of thousand bikers lined up waiting to get in and it was taking awhile for them to get in. If anyone leaned against the temporary fencing (chainwire) the security dickheads would whack them thru the fence with their baseball bats. After awhile the boys got sick of that, so they pushed the fence down and punched #$%* out of the Karate "experts".

Jimmy and the boys were up on stage at this point and Jimmy was egging the bikers on, all I could see from my vantage point back from the stage was a sea of leather kicking the bejeezus out of the bloody (literally) security guards in their torn and tattered T shirts. The riot cops (who were in for an interesting night.....) came in and the concert was postponed until the mellee was cleaned up. All in all, a great night and a great fight! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)
