card sync on 72 cb500
« on: November 02, 2011, 03:46:13 PM »
got all the goddies to do a carb sync on my cb500. already did the plugs points/timing etc. everthing on this bike is stock and no alterations. downloaded the manuals from this site on all the particulars...only problem is there seems to be a page missing from the manual i downloaded. at what engine rpm should i do the sync adjustment? did alot of searching and got alot of good info to do this with confidence but would like to know what rpm to set.
thanks guys!!

Synch them at whatever speed your engine likes to idle at.  The rpm will change as you adjust the carb slides, so you'll need to keep adjusting the throttle stop to keep a good idle speed.
