Topic: Any recommended rides in the Lake Havasu City area?

I'm going to haul a bike down to Lake Havasu City, AZ  this winter and would like to hear from others regarding some good rides in the general area.  I've read ofgrene's recommendation for the road from Kingman to Oatman but would like to get some more ideas.

The run on old 66 between Kingman and Seligman is worthwhile.  I always like to stop at the store at Hackberry.  There are some side roads to explore, such as Hackberry Road.

Getting cold up there lately, but I guess that might be a point-of-view thing.

You definitely have to watch the weather when planning a ride up there in the winter as Seligman is over 5000 feet.  But it is doable at the right time, even in winter.  It gets cool at night, for sure.

It was spitting snow here in Scumboldt Monday; lows have been low 20's to mid 30's (F)

I plan on spending a few months in the area, so i can be rather selective when i ride.  But definitely going to bring my electric vest.  Anything has got to be better than sitting at home looking at the snow covered mountains.

Pretty much any direction is a nice ride. I live in Bullhead City so if you are up this way drop me a message. Coffee is always warm eh?

I will definitely be up in your area some time this winter.  I don't think I'll be trying to better your top speed on the busa.

We made the ride from Lake Havasu City to 29 Palms a few days ago.  You are right, it does get cold when you get up over 3500ft.  As you know, that ride on Hwy 62 is straight as an arrow and we were able to maintain an illegal speed for most of it.  The ride thru the Joshua Tree Park is great.  We took our time as it was a little cool and for the most part, the speed limit is 45mph.  There is some fantastic scenery thru the park, well worth the trip.  We came back on Hwy 177 which is generally the same as 62, straight thru the desert.  It has been a nice change of scenery compared to riding in the mountains at home. 
We are still looking for the next ride in the area.  Someone had mentioned a secondary road to Laughin but I'm not sure what side of the river it is on.
