Is this a complete list of Engine O-Ring, Gasket and Oil Seals?
« on: November 29, 2011, 12:05:18 AM »
Im sorting through my EMGO complete gasket kit and the oil seal kit I got. It seams between the two Im missing some important  o-rings.  I also have a bunch of small o-rings  I cant find a home for either. Is it always this difficult trying to button up the engine? every time I think I have every thing sure enough something is missing.

So I put together a list of all the gaskets, seals and rubber o-rings I could find using the parts manual. If you see any missing would you let me know.
After all this effort, the thought of watching oil piss all over the floor the first time I fire it up, is just too much to handle. I put some of the packings and the some other rubber oil orifice thingy under oil seals. The page ref is for the parts manual I have.

----UPDATED---- changed the 4 o-rings in the cylinder insulator section to the 3.7X1.7 that the K1 uses.

Nice work, order per the chart, rebuild your engine, correct any inaccuracies, and repost.

Good job.

Somewhere on the site are lists for seals, gaskets, and bearings for my 75/76 CB750F that I put together.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Ok I finally finished compiling all the info and have a new PDF with all the updated info for the '71 CB750 complete with colours.......guess who didn't get much done at work today?...
As far as missing  stuff. Its really just o-rings.

http://www.mediafire.com/?5aj701g90builpk

The oil seal kit has all the oils seals. The EMGO kit has all the gaskets. It also has the 8 packings for the cylinder stud bolts that the '71 does not use.
It does however not have

Contact Breaker O-RING 6X2.3  91301300000     - this one I think is buried inside the crankshaft and I dont think I need to touch it.
Cylinder Head Insulator O-Ring 3.7X1.7  91317300003 - these 4 are not included in the EMGO kit. Included are bigger O-rings that fit later models but not the 69-71
Clutch Cover O-RING 5X2.4  91301283000  - this one again is inside the clutch release shaft and I may not need to replace it. The EMGO kit come with one of these sizes but it may be needed in the shift drum fork area

Starter Motor O-Ring  24.4X3.1  91309300000   - this one is missing.
Starter Motor O-ring Mitsuba  31206286158   -this is part of the starter motor so Im sure not part of any engine kit.

All of the oil pump and filter O-Rings are missing.   - this may not be part of an engine kit.

Gear Shift Drum O-RING  8X3 91311044000  - this is the one that goes on the neutral switch.

Final Drive O-RING 6.4X3  91313300003 - again buried inside the shaft that the sprocket sits on.
Final Drive Rubber Orifice  23314319300 - is discontinued by Honda
Crankcase O-RING 11X2.5  9130935000 - missing 3 of these
Crankcase O-RING 19.4X2.8  9460840000 - missing 1 ( came with two)
Crankcase O-RING 13X2.5 91319300000 - missing ( mine is still in the case so I wont replace it.

Thanks for taking the time to put together the PDF. My CycleX kit was missing everything you were.

No problem happy to share. Those kits come with everything just bundled together and it was driving me crazy working out what goes where. I've since sound out that that rubber orifice piece that sits inside the final drive/sprocket area is discontinued. So be careful with it.  I just ordered a few of the missing o-rings today and it comes close to $40 ouch, pricey for 6 small rubber o-rings

just updated the PDF to reflect the 4 smaller 3.7X1.7 o-rings that go in the cylinder head. The kits include bigger o-rings for later models but not the 71.
