3 engine rebuilds. Tool advice needed
« on: December 03, 2011, 08:17:09 PM »
OK both my bikes have said FU to me and will not start. Getting a car soon.
The FZR is getting an engine rebuild and so are the 500 and 550.
I want to make sure everytrhing is within spec when I'm done
What tools will I need for all the measurements I'll need to take during an engine rebuild, and where can I find decent ones at a good price?
Bikes:
90 FZR600 RA
74 CB550k
78 GL1000
72 CB500K

Dave one that's over looked is a flat surface so, my suggestion is you find a piece of plate glass about 2' square and use that as your surface plate it should be with in a thou of being dead true and I can't remember, less than a thou for roughness, best of all some times you can find such a thing for free.
