Mike, can you give us any info on what needs to be done if it isn't a proprietary secret type thing?
Back halves have to be cut off in bandsaw first off. Case have to be fixtured in the CNC to allow 360 degrees of rotation for the CAD. After that it is figuring out cuts and the best way to mount a backing plate. Original plates are 1/8" sheet aluminum with extremely random pattern sheet metal screws to secure the plates....really hit or miss. Russ Jr said it leaked pretty good ( or should it be bad) despite the 5 lbs of clear RTV used to seal them.  ::) ;D There are a lot of small details too.
The nice thing is all the cases will be exactly alike and future cases can be machined if needed. Case backs should seal well with just some 1194.
Building the engines themselves isn't difficult as it is just a crank. APE rebuilt the heads and did the cylinder work. Other logistical items are welding mounting brackets etc which we will discuss with Russ.
The original engines were a good start....these next generation will maintain the original look/form but be modern ( if that term can be applied  ;D) and worthy of the precision rolling frame Russ has put together.
I struggled for months trying to figure out what to do (in regard to maintaining originaility, reliability etc etc etc) and I honestly think this is the best solution.

Projects like this make you go to bed and fall asleep thinking of how to solve problems. As strange as it seems after a while of that process (and thinking about it throughout each day) you can figure out solutions (that you...at the least....hope will work). ;D

Maybe you can take videos of the work with interviews with all people involved in this project?
Finally a complete documentary movie to be cut together with old videos from the past and sold to TV?
I'm sure a lot of viewers will love it since it is a historical event!

I have seen the same type of lift at Rick Stetson's shop when he had Dave Vantine's bike there. Awesome. Meticulous attention to detail on the bike...i.e. wiring is perfect, welding etc etc. Mechanical art. Those Mallory magnetos are the business....it can kill a human with its amperage.

On Vantine's bike it was on the right side. It was an 8 cylinder unit like funny car/rail with the 4 unused towers grounded out. It was belt driven too.
