Laced and trued the rear wheel. Once the spokes were in the right place this wheel basically trued itself. By far the easiest wheel i have ever done. Need to pick up a tube and then mount the tire.

I also took a shot of my weld for the new frame tubes.

You're gonna mount the tire yourself on those pretty white rims? You're a braver man than I. They look really good. I dig black and white.

Yeah. I took the front to a shop and they were not confident that they could do it without scratching the rim. So i was forced to try it myself. It went on fine. Just use a little soap, big spoons and a few rim savers. I hope the rear goes on as well as the front. Stay tuned.

Its funny though. I get more feedback and input on this more obscure (other bikes) board here on SOHC4 then i do in the cafe racer section on Do The Ton. Also the input and info here most of the time is more informative and of value. Thanks for following along.

Yeah. I think i can fit the same one on the front. They recommend a 2.15 for that size tire but i bet it will do just fine on a 1.85.

Fork lowers came in today. So shiny. Ill put them together tomorrow. Spent the afternoon playing around with the mill and have company tonight. So tomorrow we should have a roller.

Good day at the junk yard. I took the bike down there to try the exhaust on. The guy liked my bike so he sold me the pipes for half of what he told me last time!

Little rattle can to see what black pipes would look like. I think the white heat shield might be to much.

YEah, that was my thought but when i was at the powder coaters they said they charge 30% more to do white because they never do it. Also she said it is very hard to keep clean. So I dont want to do white because i plan to ride this bike and dont want dingy look pipes. I think I may re-chrome or ceramic coat them.

here is a quick rattle can white. I think its to much. I like the ceramic even though it doesnt go with the color scheme.

I think you are right. The white is a little over the edge, and would definitely be hard to keep clean.

I like the ceramic too. Really the only other option would be to wrap them...

Obviously Im joking but i do hate header wrap and will avoid it at all cost.

My dream for this one would be a stainless exhaust but that will have to wait.

I agree the white is a little much. Are the pipes really that bad as is? Or can you get them powdered in like a brushed stainless or titanium color? I think that would look great.

I don't think you can powder coat exhaust pipes. That's why I'm looking at ceramic choosing. The silver ceramic looks like a polished aluminum. So i think that's what I'll end up doing.

We'll see. When im done and have ridden the bike for a little bit I usually put them on CL and see if I can make money on the build. But I agree with you this bike is going to be F'n awesome. I may just ride the heck out of it. I have much more attachment to this build then i did with big blue.

Oh and I also am pretty sure that any bike before 73 does not have to have blinkers. I know the SL175 did not have any so that means i dont need to have all those switches i was planning on putting on the handlebars.

Well i have hit a snag. The shocks on these are 13" long so i was thinking I would use a set of progressive 12 series. But it turns out the bolt for the clevis on the cb175 is an 8mm and the bolt on every other bike that has a clevis shock is a 10mm. I have not been able to find any aftermarket shocks for them. I have an email into progressive to see if they are interested in making a shock for this size or if i can get one without the clevis hole drilled. Otherwise i will have to modify the swingarm. If I have to do that i think I will make it to accept an eye to eye shock since those are much more abundant.
