Does anybody have any recommendations for biking books that have come out in the last year or so which are a good read? I tend to enjoy the biographies of racers etc as well as the road trip stories.

Two by Neil Peart, the drummer for Rush.  Ghost Rider - Travels Along the Healing Road and Roadshow - Landscape with Drums

The first came out 5 or 7 years ago, and is a travelling book detailing his travels following the death of his only daughter followed by the death of his wife.  A bit depressing, but ultimately uplifting.  The 2nd book is pure gold - a travelling book following Rush's 30th anniversary tour, during which he 'commutes' between gigs on a BMW oil-head.

Enjoy,

Kirk

Stealing Speed, by Mat Oxley  ...the story of Walter Kaden, the East German father of the modern two stroke, and Ernst Degner, the east German gp racer who defected to Japan with Kaden's engine technology secrets    ...this was published in 2010 so you may have already read it, if not I highly recommend it.
If it works good, it looks good...

The biography of Dick Mann. When I was younger I never imagined how much I would enjoy biographies. It is just a matter of reading the biography of somebody who had done something interesting.

The only thing about these biographies is how little they deal with the "behind the scenes". Hard to tell some things when your wife and family will read it....

That's why biographies of rock bands are getting so interesting :)

Now seriously, I enjoyed "Mann of his time" a lot.
