You are right about BMW fairings. They work great. But back in those days there a lot of BMWs on the road that weren't RS or RT's. And the Vetter fairings work well, too.  Looks are a matter taste of course, but I think the Windjammers from the SS model on look OK.  And as I've commented many times, when I'm riding to work in February when it is 19F, it is positively beautiful. :'(

Yeah, that's true mate, before the /7 models like the one in the pic, the only BMW with a factory fairing was the R90S with it's little handlebar fairing, and some of those old "Barn Door" fairings worked quite well. 19 deg F? I've been to see the snow once, (and hated it) but I don't think it was 19 deg F even then! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.
