carb boot question

are the carb intake boots from up to a 76 compatible with those from a 77 or 78???  on a 76....the boots for 1&4 have one part number...boots for 2&3 are a different part #........on a 78 there is a ddifferent part number for all four boots, and they are not the same as the 76.......willl they work????????????????

My 72 CB500 has two straight boots [2 & 3] and two angled boots [1 & 4]...my 76 CB550 has the same...Dunno 'bout any other years/models...   :(
