Removing lower fork covers, CB 350 F
« on: January 12, 2012, 04:39:31 AM »
I am trying to figure out how to remove the lower fork cover on a CB 350 F. It appears there is a rubber seal that holds the cover to the lower tree.

I want to replace the chrome rings as seen in the picture. I don't think you need to remove the upper headlight/fork cover to do this but I could be wrong.

Any tips or suggestions?

Hi Toytuff.
In my experience take off top tree and top and bottom covers will come off.Take care they can fall off.The top cover sits in the chrome ring you want to replace.
On reassembly put the bottom cover, rubber and ring on the lower tree slide fork leg in and refit top cover,Pinch up the lower bolt then do the same for the other side then refit top tree and adjust as necessary.
Hope this helps

Only had mine off a couple of months ago and from what I remember the top cover has to come off first. Again from what I remember the top one is just wedged in with the rubber washers and is then held in place more secure when the fork tube is in place. Once the top cover is off I think the bottom one just slips straight off. Should be pretty easy.

Thanks guys.

I really don't want to remove the top tree however I'm not sure if there is enough clearance to wedge the top cover back in place.

Maybe loosen the top tree a couple of turns?

All done. Looks fantastic! Was lucky to find these on flea bay.

I removed the lower fork pinch bolts. This allowed a little more room.

I removed the upper mounts then washed the rubber grommets in hot soapy water. Next spray a little silicone on the top grommet and wiggle in place. Line everything up with the fork tube.

Thanks again.
