Heated grips and seats....
« on: May 24, 2006, 02:59:08 AM »
I did a 300 mile run with 10 other guys on the weekend..temperatures ranged between 8 and 15 degrees Celsius according to a Moto Guzzi rider who had a temperature sensor on his bike...

It got uncomfortable for me later in the day. Me on my skinny old 1969 K0 'naked bike' and the other guys all kitted out...Got to get me a BMW 1200RT soon!....Full respect to the guy on the Suzuki 600 who was carving up the traffic.

I'm not going to slag off the HD riders with heated grips and seats, each to their own,  because maybe they have more sense than me. A great day out, talking dirty and swaggering in leather,.... 'not that there's anything wrong with that'      ;D

That's right, you folks down under are closing in on the dead of winter aren't you.  ;)

Hi Bob, "For sure, For sure", as you say over there.  Although I have to say it has been beautiful riding over rivers swollen with snow fed water and the leaves all turning red and yellow, the snow capped peaks in the distance, the mixture of water and diesel on the roads, left by tourists in their campervans without the fuel cap on... >:(  Enjoyed your 'fall ride' a lot. Except that you should have been caning it a bit harder.... ;D

We've had this debate before.

I have heated grips on the "rat" & they are the ducks guts.

My mates (people I know?) are trying to thaw their hands out on the engine & I'm quite happily rolling a smoke with warm hands.

Good luck with the Bike of the Month Bob..Although it is going to be a bit of a hollow victory for the winner because of the low voter turnout.....Over 2000 members and only about 200 votes so far??   Hey, and what goes around comes around (mother earth). When you guys are #$%*ing about the cold I'll be out there in lightweight gloves, T-shirt and jacket and feeling really hot whereas you will be scraping snow off your driveway with your bikes winterized and no chance of a ride..  ;)

G'day toycollector

There are some good things about winter. I leave work about 6 am & by 6.45 I'm on the old road.

No other traffic, just me & the "rat".

Stop at the Hawkesbury Bridge for a coffee & egg & bacon sandwich & you think you're in heaven.

By the way, $120 for heated grips at MAS in Sydney
