'76 CB750f - my 1st frame up build
« on: January 22, 2012, 05:20:38 PM »
so this was the first bike I ever bought...'76 CB750F that I bought off craigslist about 5 yrs ago or so.  Before anyone gets their panties in a bunch about me altering this antique bike...I just want to say the original tank, and seat were long gone before I bought the bike.  I wasn't a big fan of the aftermarket parts that were installed, so I quickly bought some Carpy parts and replaced them.

Here is the bike the day I bought it home:

Here are a few pics of pieces I quickly ordered and started bolting on the bike:

And here is the bike after I had owned it about a year or so:

Not a lot of miles on this baby:

Tore the bike down last week:

...now what?...well I guess I have a plan...

I want to grind off the passenger pegs, and clean up the frame as much as possible...if $$$ cooperates I want to powdercoat the frame a metallic blue (as close to the biltwell blue flake as I can get)...and everything else will be black...or as black as I can paint it.

the spoke rims may go away for a bit....I have some Comstars laying around that should fit...just have to see if the '77 CB750 F brake system will bolt onto my '76.

final part will be to have the tank and seat finished, and a decent brakelight/license frame installed...so the work begins.

updates to come later this week...
