New addition...
« on: May 26, 2006, 08:55:44 AM »
Hello all!

My name is Jesse and I am located in the kansas city area. I just picked up two 1975 honda cb550 which is a bit beat and needs a little work. I will be honest I am hoping the members of this board will assist me since I am by no means a motorcycle mech but I do like to consider myself a DIY person. I will take the initiative to search the web including this site before post a question though.

Well if you guys have any good educational sites, books or materials related to this engine of any sort that you feel would be good starting point for me I would appreciate it.

Thanks to the admin for keeping a board like this running.

The FAQ section will tell you everything you need to know about each subsystem of the bikes, also where to find manuals, etc.

It's a good read, and then feel free to ask questions here too!

Welcome cafeelite.
I joined this board less than a year ago after I bought my bike in what looks like the same condition as yours. I did some work on it myself with help from this board and paid a mech' to do some of the work. The bike isn't finished (never will be realistically) but I'm driving it and it runs well. Anyway, you will find a ton of help here from a lot of very knowledgeable people. No matter what the problem is, someone her has been there before.

good luck.  ;D
