Need a quick answer on a wheel spoke question please
« on: January 26, 2012, 10:35:55 AM »
Hey guys I'm moving along with gathering what I need for my CB750 build and as part of the project I'm swapping my stock rear wheel from a 17 down to a 16 mostly because of tire availability.  I'm going to run my stock center hub and I got my hands on a Harley 16" deep drop 40 spoke outer rim.  I know my original spokes will be too long now.  I found a set of 16" CB750 spokes online for the 69-76 models.  Will these be the correct length for my stock 1977 rear hub and the Harley outer rim?  Hoping to purchase them today so I can get them off to the plating shop to be done in copper.

Should be the same.   You might give a call to Buchannon spoke.  They can tell you what length the spokes actually need to be.  You just tell them your hub and what rim you'll be using and they can tell the proper length.   Then, just see if you can find out what the length of the spokes that you want to buy are.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

What sprocket setup are you planning on using?
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing twice.
