Model Difference '72-'76 CB750K & '77/'78

I have done some searching and cant find the answer. If there is a thread where this has been beat to death and someone wants to direct me I would appriciate it. If not ..
I have been working over the winter doing a "restore" on my '78. Some parts back to origional most going to aftermarket or upgraded pieces. I have noticed as I worked through this that a lot of parts are listed as fitting a '72-'77 CB750K or '72-'76 CB750K. The same goes for carb rebuild kits I have looked at. What was different about my '78 that prevents me from using these parts before I purchase something only to find out the hard way? This seems to be mostly surrounding the carbs and some general engine parts which is where I am about to start in at.
Thank you in advance!

Carbs for 77 & 78 are the PD series carbs with accelerator pumps. Differences in jets sizes but most other parts interchange on the carbs. Up to 76 the carbs were different (round tops as opposed to the keyhole tops)

Makes complete sense. Thank you for the fast response. one final question then, when buying pod filters and velocity stacks, are the inlet sizes any different across all the years?

You can get all the carb parts you need from outfits like Sirisonic, maybe Z1 etc. I think you should check out the PODs threads on here and see the pros and cons and the mods needed to dial them in, before you do it.

Your engine may be difficult to tune with pods, but it can be done. This subject has been beat to death, search and you will find many threads on it.

I believe they are different sizes between the 2 types of carbs.
