Direct front fork swap? 74' CB750
« on: March 12, 2012, 07:32:43 AM »
I have a 74' CB750 and am in the middle of a full restore. My front forks are in pretty bad shape and I want to go the cheapest route possible to replace them without having to do anything custom. I've looked on ebay for forks from the same year span and they are all in pretty much the same condition as mine. Are there any other year CBs or anything else that is a direct swap fit for just the forks?

Thanks

CycleX has new tubes for about $150.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Probably your best bet as most all the upper forks are rusted in the area under the fork ears(that is, if that is your concern).  I've  had a couple 750's that were rust free everywhere except the upper fork ears.  Doesn't show and structurally sound so they went back on...Larry

PS:  good deal BB is offering

77/78 K forks are hard-chromed, also 750 a forks , and maybe 75/76 F.......if you want  better trubes . 77/78 K 750 forks are longer and are easier to get fork braces for..

Tons of threads on this forum about doing that.  Even those that have trouble getting them out or if they still leak afterwards.
