« on: March 18, 2012, 05:32:17 PM »
I have a set of 1972 cb500 top and bottom triple trees, looking at getting them powder coated then placed on my 1975 cb550 build.  will they match up ok?

I just had to change out the top Tree on my 500. I had a spare 550 tree and it worked fine.

There is a difference on some models. Most of the early models used the "idiot lights" as the clamps for the handle bars and the gauges mounted through holes on the top triple.
The later style had a seperate dash and regular clamps for the bars and the gauges mounted from underneath the top triple; no holes drilled all the way through.....just a threaded hole.

Thanks all, by looking at them they look exactly the same.. Didnt have my calipers on my at the time to check.  Was just making sure i dont put all the time and money into one to have the tree dimensions be off or something.
