i did the math... the sterling really goes a long way compared to the dollar.. so between the residuals from the show, and the meager profit margin they make on the car, I'd say they do okay.

I'm saying that someday soon, you will be able to steal their wallet, in a manner of speaking

I understand.....but can I still beat them up after they pay me. ;)

I like wheeler dealers too however the premise is crap. Buy a car for 2000 bucks put 1500 of parts in it, and 30 hours of professional labor then sell it for 3600. That’s not a profit. These guys would make way more money just working in a shop as a mechanic for a day.

I too have noticed they seem to get excited over the tiniest profit without taking into account the amount of labor they've expended... ??? ???
I always thought the premise was to fix up the old car and put it back on the road for someone to enjoy. I dont think the intent was to demonstrate the money that can be made.

are you sure it was a sandcast?

That bike was NOT a Sandcast.  I gave it a good look at Barber last October, got some pics around here some place.

It was a shame they hacked that bike up.  It had an interesting history and was a real survivor.  There are plenty of bikes out there that they could have done that to.

Worst part?  I bet it handled better before they chopped it up to "modernize" it.

They defn position it that its a great way to make money. Talking about a great deal and how they will sell it for so much more.  Its also in the title "dealers".
I do love watching the show though... just wish i had 1/100th the skills the skinny guy has on there!
