Blues.
Like this...
Slow Blues

C#,  Thats an odd key for the blues.... ;)

I like to listen to Black label society, Sevendust, Alice in chains {old and new}, ACDC, old Sabbath, and anything that rocks hard..... ;D
Well i am a lead guitarist.... 8)

He was mixing up major and minor. Same key.
If you just move one whole step down the neck then you are in major pentatonic but you just cannot use the root note.

So if you are in C then you can use all the notes in B except the B note. The first
note of the major scale. That would then be C major pentatonic.
I believe that rythmn music was Stormy Monday.

It was a little confusing when first watching it.

Yeah, i knew what he was doing, its just a rarely used key C#, i actually play in it a lot, have written a couple of interesting songs in it, i like the way the open E harmonizes with C#, play the C# bar chord on the A string with the E and B strings open and you'll see what i mean, its a very tasty chord. I've been playing for over 30 years, mainly hard rock or heavier stuff....

got an old 6-disc changer out in the shop.  Currently in rotation:

Queens of the Stone Age - rated r
Townes VanZandt - the late great Townes Van zandt
Black Keys - magic potion
Led Zeppelin - 4
Sugar - Copper Blue   (Bob Mould of Husker Du)
Foo Fighters - Wasting Light

+1 on Foo Fighters, along with Red Hot Chili Peppers, early Led Zeppelin, any and all Danny Gatton, some Johnny A, Dwight Yoakam, Rodney Crowell, and the new Punch Brothers disc. Add in a little vintage Grateful Dead.  Hooked up a digital Walkman to an old boombox and set it on "Random"
