I was playing in a blues band last summer and the lead player did just about  everything in C#. Had to adjust the saddle and truss rods on the old Rick.

Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Yes, Rush, Beatles, Bob Seger, CCR, King Crimson, The Zombies, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, BTBAM, Bowie, Queen...

The list goes on and on. I think I was born a couple of decades too late.

Classic rock, +1.   No, you weren't born too late, it is the new "classical" music.

Tore my old CL350 apart in '73 to replace the valves (3 out of 4 were bent!) and put together a mix tape, which I still have. When I decided to attack my newest project, I dug it up. Steely Dan (named after a fictional steam-powered dildo - there actually were steam powered dildoes back in the day!  :o ) Elton John, Michael Martin Murphy, Sopwith Camel, Ultimate Spinach, etc. Sure takes me back.

Otherwise, +1 on NPR; also, lots of audio books (Clive Cussler a favorite)...

The Black Keys older stuff. Also a little bit of Lawrence Welk to lighten the mood when a bolt snaps or something goes generally off.

Corelia, The Ocean, Ever Forthright, Erra, Haunted Shores, Chimp Spanner, Andy James, Keith Merrow, Periphery, or at least thats my recently added playlist. On any good day in my garage you will hear: Dream theater, Opeth, The Who, YES, Brain Setzer, The Creepshow, Horror Pops, The Human Abstract, Senses Fail, Trent Tomlinson, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Jason Becker, Steve Vai, and many more. I dunno man if its on I'll listen to it. I really will listen to just about anything. MY taste is extremely eclectic, its almost like i suffer from multiple personality disorder.

WOW!

Looks like I need to spend some time on Youtube!

I thought I liked music, but hell, I never heard of some of the bands listed.

Great to see the musical taste is as different as the great bikes on this forum. "Vive la difference!"  8)

Really? -- high-five on the Nitzer Ebb!   i typically listed to my industrial mixes at work (i work in IT and it scares the users away).

As far as when i'm working in the garage - it varies greatly depending on the day.  if it's hot outside and i'm laying on the ground getting covered in grease I usually like to listen to country since that seems the most appropriate.  It also keeps me relaxed and my sense of humor up so I'm less prone to getting frustrated and making a dumb mistake out of haste.

when i have lots of cleaning or sanding to do, i listen to metal to keep the pace up.  i try not to OD on the volume, though, since most of my neighbors are little old ladies and are all very nice.

Blues.
Like this...
Slow Blues

C#,  Thats an odd key for the blues.... ;)

I like to listen to Black label society, Sevendust, Alice in chains {old and new}, ACDC, old Sabbath, and anything that rocks hard..... ;D
Well i am a lead guitarist.... 8)

He was mixing up major and minor. Same key.
If you just move one whole step down the neck then you are in major pentatonic but you just cannot use the root note.

So if you are in C then you can use all the notes in B except the B note. The first
note of the major scale. That would then be C major pentatonic.
I believe that rythmn music was Stormy Monday.

It was a little confusing when first watching it.
