Installing a dyna-s and dyna coils...
« on: April 22, 2012, 06:45:52 PM »
Hey guys just received my electronic setup in the mail. I installed the dyna s, but im wondering if i did it correctly.  Swapped out the existiong points with the new dyna s system. I also set the indicator on 4-1 like it says and tighten up the bolts and threw on the cover.. is it really that simple..? Also, its telling me to put that crimper on the two red wires to make it into one to run to the coils.... I dont really know whats goin on with this.. having a "slow" moment, and dont want to screw anything up.  Anything would help guys thanks!!
Matt

You'll need to time it with a timing light.  Usually it's a matter of adjusting the whole plate on the 4-1 side; on the 2-3 side you loosen the set screws and move the pickup assembly up and down a bit to adjust.  Granted, the way that dyna lays out the instructions, it makes it seem like a little less to it than there really is.  But it's simply a matter of getting both pickups in a spot where the timing's happy.
