New CB owner here!!
« on: June 09, 2006, 10:05:45 AM »
Hello guys and gals,

I am a 28yr old Realtor in Chyenne Wyoming with a Beautiful wife and a one year old son.

I just purchased a 78' CB that I plan to customize a bit. I am not new to motorcycles, and have owned many different bikes, from crotch rockets to trials bikes. I have always loved the look of the SOHC Hondas, the styling is timless in my book. I am sick of the Harley attitude and wanted somthing I thought was cool, not what was most popular. So here I am ready to ride and customise!!

Sorry past bikes, Gone but not forgotten.

 From the begining.
1981 Montesa Cota 349

1983 Yamaha IT 250

1989 Yamaha Radian 600

1985 honda XR350R

2000 kawasaki ZRX1100

2002 XR 650 R

1998 CBR 900RR

And curently own (wifes) Honda 400 EX fourwheeler.

Just make sure you use the Search function and check the FAQ before asking what size spark plugs you need for your bike, or you'll be lynched  ;D

Brent C. -  just a thought - in case you haven't found it yet, there is a link to the service manual for your bike on this site.  Home - FAQ page2 - Manuals FAQ - CB750 K0-K7 + K8-F3 Manuals on PDF.  I don't know who spent their Saturday scanning  them, but thankyou whoever you are ;D

Also, the commercial site http://www.crotchrocket.com/default.asp has diagrams with names and part numbers for every piece on your K.

Just make sure you use the Search function and check the FAQ before asking what size spark plugs  you need for your bike, or you'll be lynched  ;D

;D tintin is correct ;D  oil is another one.  8)    Some of the old guys get grumpy when they see those words in a new topic.  There are some CB wizards here ,  mostly high posters, but not always, that can sort through any problem you have,  their posts are jewels. ( like Bodis flasher reply today)
The rest of us are mostly full of sh)t and you will have to wade through our posts ;D ;D

Oh thank goodness, for a couple there, I thought we had yet ANOTHER noob with a 78 Supersport!  For a limited supply bike it's getting to be real common around here...  Anyway, Welcome aboard Brent.  This is a great forum although it sometimes gets a tad silly with all the Aussie and Spainard bashing...

WOO HOO ANOTHER!! K8!!!!

Brent, you will see some K8 bashing. It stems from an ugly thing called jealosy!

The K8 is the best looking K as far as I am concerned. Give you a tip, get a couple metal washers for the right side of your front fender and swap out the rubber pieces, or just keep em, and put those washers on there. Then pull off the small back brace. I did that and I makes a huge change in looks.  The k8 is a little more difficult in carb tuning since we have press in slow jets and no slots on the main needle to change the position, BUT we have an accel pump that when properly set, works great. Once you have things tuned good, the K8 will keep pace and probably corner better than any of the other stock 750s.

Oh, you can easily fit 110/90-19 tires on the front and 130/90-17 on the back. looks good.
