Was it Darwin that said natural selection will eventually lower the no-front-brake-population, leaving mostly the have-front-brake-motorcycle-riders?
Yes I think it was Darwin.   :D

No one is gonna see you "stylin" out in the countryside.

I never understood where not having front brakes on those old 70's extended choppers came from, anyways...maybe they couldn't find brake lines long enough, so they just said "*%#$ it! Today's a good day to die"?

I've only ridden a few years of late...and a couple when I was a teenager (including my uncle's old panhead chopper with no front brake)...but I do know enough to realize that my front brake is near 70-80% of my stopping power, especially with these old rear drums.  People don't see or care to see us riders anyways, let's not make it harder on ourselves.

In the 60s, there were a lot less vehicles to stop for an avoid.

Even in the 60's we were smart enough to know those are show bikes. A front brake can save your life. There are more distracted drivers than ever. They are eating, drinking, putting on make-up, shaving, turned around looking in the baby seat, and even reading.
Not to mention pedestrians, deer, dogs, coons, cows, tree limbs, power lines and even an occasional pig. Put on the best brakes you can and practice stopping in a safe area. The life you save will be your own.
And yes, I have witnessed all the above.
 Jeez.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.
