Ouch, sorry for the loss.

Did the get the 360 too or is it a past bike you've owned?

Hope the insurance treats you well. Pull out that book of reciepts and the photos...and list of maintenance work...

Was it taken from a locked garage or was it parked outside? If from outside, it maybe local. I would search the area where you live at a radius of 3 miles in the early evening, checking down alleys and if possible, open garages.

Sadly, I'll bet is shows up wrecked on Angles Crest Highway.   :'(

You might want to go up there Saturday morning and have a look-see. Talk to the CHP up there and give them a heads up.

If they went through the trouble of getting through a locked door and a Kryptonite lock the bike is a goner.  Sorry to say.  Although it would seem easy to spot a Minn plate in California I don't think it will see the rode.  People that go through that kind of trouble are not looking for a joy ride.  They are looking for an organ Donor. It's likely that the bike will either be shipped overseas or parted out and sold on line.  I had the same thing happen to my 67 Chevelle.  It's parts are probably on some of the cars that now go to local cruise nights where I live.  Every time I see one, I wonder.

Sorry for your loss.  I truly hope your story ends better than mine.

its such a common bike. i can be replaced it doesnt not to concerned about its future. time to move on thats what insurance is for. now its a matter of the two weeks of downtime waiting for the insurance to wait for the cops to come acrossed it. NOW on the other hand if it was my 550 i would be scouring the earth for it.

Just got an update from apt cameras. The guy rode the bike out so chances are good its local  and catch it  on the street soon.  I have some potential leads.

Nearly all stolen bikes are ridden away... very few actually get thrown in the back of a truck or van (from what I read, but what do I know?).  If the camera showed that he was quick and professional you can bet that it isn't being ridden or sitting anywhere that it can be seen from the road.  Given that your bike is so common (if you cared to find it) your best bet would be looking for the parts on EBAY or Craigslist.

It sounds like you are just moving on, which is going to save you a lot of time driving around not finding your bike.  Thankfully you lost something that is easily replaceable.    Best of luck!

This is not entirely true. I have been a designer in the Powersports industry since 2004 with companies Polaris and BRP. This is quite a common way of teams steeling bikes/ATVS as reported to us through focus groups.

So your focus groups were populated by mostly thieves and criminals?

Not here to argue a point with you. But not all thieves have gotten away with thefts. Those rings that are busted info is relayed back on theft rings and how they work and we supplied law enforcement with vehicles so we get the scoop from them on focus groups too. Sorry you need such a detailed explanation or you just trying to be funny  or up your post count. but there it is.

Can you provide a few more details ...I'm very curious to hear more of the story of what happened. Hope this Guy leads to more arrests of his "associates", etc.

I hope your knuckles are feeling his pain! Arrested after the fact?

Perhaps the property owners need to install a security system in lieu of being sued by tenants??!!

I was working on my cafe bike which is beside my car, on the opposite side of where anyone would notice me sitting on the ground. I just happened RO stand up to stretch and saw this guy riding toward me on what I assume is another stolen bike. When he sees me he pulled a quick u turn and I proceed to run to the other side of the garage to cut him off from exiting but he never showed up at the other gate. I head back the other way and see that he stopped at another tennants parking space and proceeds to try and shoulder the bike in that spot. I approach him and ask if he lives here and he says his aunt does. I ask him what unit she is in and he has no answer thats when the pic was taken. Ask his aunts name he studders an give gives a last name... At that time talking was over...fast forward a bit and the cops are here ;)

There's a total of 8 infrared camera just on the first floor of the garage... The guy who runs them (mainteance guy) says nothing was picked up during the theft of my bike. Needless to say he is on the suspect list. He also has been telling tenants that I am pulling some insurance scam. I and one of the tennants he told this confronted him. I spoke up first and asked what is problem was and of course he denied saying it. She jumped in and gave a time and place of him saying this. Thats when he got really defensive  and tried to blame me for my bike being stolen to my face. So now the have a defimnation of character issue to deal with. Also I took pics of the infrared cameras. If you take a pic of an infrared camera it glows in photographs. One on the main gate did not. It's tuned off. Sound like a serious subside job to me.
