Which tire? The spitfire or the dunlop goldseal.
« on: May 16, 2012, 01:20:44 PM »
The 750K6 had Dunlop Goldseal K70's on it.  Front and rear.
After the crash there is a nice gash in the front tire, unusable.
The new front end has a Bridgestone Spitfire 11F on it.
Both the rear Dunlop and the front Spitfire have good tread and are from 2008.
I'm trying to get back on the road with minimal expense.
So I'm only going to buy 1 new tire for now.
This bike is for long distance, I've got the 360 for town riding.

What does the hive mind recommend. ???

Thanks
Steve

I have spitfires on my 750F and have no complaints.
However it I were me, the new tire would go on the front.

I've never tried the Dunlop Goldseals, but I love my Spitfires.

If you're trying to get back on the road with minimal expenses, and both tires are fairly new, defect free, and have good tread I would just run mismatched.  But then, my riding habits are mostly touring and cruising.  If you drag your knees routinely, that might change things a bit.

Match the rear tire - go with the Dunlop.

If both are in good shape and you don't care which brand it is, I'd go with the cheapest price. Either the front tire or the rear, pretty simple. I've got spitfires on my 750 and love them, for what it's worth...
