I'm familiar with the area and I doubt he was speeding, maybe five over, maybe going 40.  His injury is about right for that speed.  He probably was in a little bit of a daydream; that's how it usually happens!  Of all people, he could had his helmet painted up like his football helmet, no. 7 and all!  There are some really cool paint jobs out there!  Yeah, I'd rather fix my hair than change my drool towel.

The latest is that Ben will be out of the hospital in 3-5 days and he will be ready to start the season. He has been upgraded to fair condition. He lost two teeth, broke his upper and lower jaw, broke his nose and some facial bones and got a 9" cut on the back of his head. The cat scan was good and he has no other injuries. A full helmet would have made all the difference.

However, if Arai were to approach him with a lucrative endorsement deal.....

i actually just watched 2 wheel tuesday on speed and greg white offered to buy him any Arai helmet he wanted, just need to get his people to contact him and it's his.

Certainly glad he seems to be Ok.  BUT, who here has not had this accident pointed out at least ten thousand time since it happened?  All followed by the "How can you keep riding with a family?" question/lecture.  It's driving me NUTS!  I'm about the only biker in my circle of family/friends - that's tough enough without this crap!  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

yeah, I was working out at some rich guy's place installing an irrigation system and his wife notices my bike there and says something about a helmet.  she asks if I wear a helmet because it's the law or to be safe.  I told her I didn't want the contents of my skull splattered on the pavement.  then she mentions something about how her husband used to ride and got scared.  then he comes home and I have the exact same conversation.  he said he had a harley and ran it off the interstate at 70mph but kept it up.  then he said he dumped it a week or two later and didn't ride again.  looks like he was too scared to continue with his midlife crisis. 

anyway, it's pretty annoying when anybody gets into your business, be it helmet-related, smoking, or what have you.
