Building cafe racer headlight ?
« on: June 15, 2006, 03:18:00 AM »
I have a 73 Honda 500 4 it is quickley becoming the cafe racer I always wanted. Do you think this would look good
On a cafe bike?  I like it but it is like when I ask my wife about something I am not sure about sometimes her taste is better
than mine.  ;)

I like it - depends on the rest of the bike.

Would it adversely affect the light pattern, particularly the center piece, or is that not an issue?

Adjure makes a tri bar 7 inch headliight that will fit the stock bucket.  I have one of their ice headlights on my project and the light produced is excellent.  Using an old part might look neat but it really needs to function well unless you never ride at night.

I like it. It's unique and original. Probably won't find another like it.

I never ask my wife's opinion about thingthing mechanical. She is great with colors, clothes, interieor decorating. She thinks my old Honda's are ugly.
Our cats, however alway have a positive opinion about my old bike. The bikes keep me in the garage. The cats like the garage.

That looks to be just a reg. old "tri-bar" headlight cover, popular in the 50's on lead-sleds / hotrods / etc..
Check out http://www.go-kat-go.com/tribbulheadc.html
Or , as other stated, you can go with a complete headlight with one of these built right in...
