77 CB550 crank not spinning

I just unloaded my new project from my truck and I am looking for some answers.  I can use the kick starter you don't hear any bad noises when you kick it over, but it is not rotating the crank.  Any ideas as to what I should take a look at?  Am I going to have to split the cases?  Thanks for any help.

The clutch must be engaged (lever released) for the kick start to engage the crank.

Make sure it's in neutral and you're not pulling in the clutch lever when kicking it.

Thanks for the replies.  The clutch cable was frozen holding the clutch in...  that is the good news... now for the bad...the motor is locked up :(  I will take the head off tomorrow to see what is up with that...still better then splitting the cases.  This thing is fresh out of the barn where it has sat for a LONG time. Very ruff. Thanks again for the help,

A little trans. fluid in the cylinders and it now kicks over like it should.  Thanks for all the help.
