I haven't gone out for a WOT plug chop yet, I merely rode around to see how the bike felt. It will continue to accelerate steadily (yet slowly) in high gear......but it accelerates faster at <3/4 throttle than it does at full. Really seems like the only issue left is size of the main jet.

I don't have the time or patience to keep screwing around with it with VMD being tomorrow....so I will wait until after I get back to tune in the main jet. I rode around a bit last night to get the bike warm and then did a carb sync but didn't get to ride around afterwards because it was 10pm at night and I needed to get loaded to leave straight from work today (taking half day to travel down to ohio)

And BIG THANKS to BAchvytrk, I owe you at least a beer or two for the pilot jets! I'll have to meet up with ya on the bike once I get it fully dialed in and let ya take it for a spin

I know you don't want to run resistor caps and plugs, just resistor on one or the other, but I also don't think it hurts anything to run no resistor on either, does it? Purpose of the resistor was noise primarly wasn't it?

No.  That was just part of it.  The resistors widen the spark event by trimming a bit off the top of the spark pulse and adding it on to the end of event.  Further, in line resistance helps reduce coil internal heating by lowering current, which can extend the life of the coils themselves.  The reduced current peaks also extend spark plug useable life.

You might think of it this way...
You can make a tall skyscraper with many floors to maximize total floor area and occupancy in a small land use foot print.  But, you can get the same occupancy and floor area in a shorter building with a wider land use foot print.

well, my carb tuning problems might be superceded by a new issue.......I'm suddenly getting a LOT of oil coming out of my valve cover breather and by headgasket has upgraded from weeping to just completely leaking. Motor #2 down. (OE motor had 6psi compression on two cylinders when I bought the bike)......guess it's time to get serious about the 650/750 hybrid motor build I've collected all necessary parts for....
