Alright... I finally got a bit of time to run the checks outlined above.
Everything that doesn't require firing it up anyway.
(respectin' the neighbors at this late hour :) )
so ... "D" through "K" anyway...
I kind of already did "A" through "C" But I will again tomorrow afternoon.
When I fiddled with the V-Reg I thought I had set the adjustment screw back to where it was according to the little red paint dab. I must have set it off by a revolution. I backed it out one turn. I'll test that tomorrow along with "A" to "C".

It's good to know the charging system checks out... :)

Looks like the next step will be to decipher what the PO did from the light switch to the H4 light.
I've already noted that the wires have been modified...
It is possible as well that I have controls from a different bike.
I did recently discover my brake/MC is from a 750F.

Thanks!

OK... Tested today and it's working as it should now. Goes up to 14.5v at higher RPMs with and without the lights on. Yesterday when I was going through things, I cleaned that switch again... this time I crimped the contact that slides over the tabs. Switch is snugger now whereas before it was a little loose feeling. (Hard bumps once shut the lights off)
