1974 cb550 gauge decal file?
« on: July 30, 2012, 06:58:43 PM »

Has anyone successfully attempted to make their own tach decal for a 74 cb550? If so, would you mind sharing the file you used with me? I want to attempt having my own printed. I've search the site and couldn't anything, thought I'd throw up a hail mary.

I bought one off ebay but it didn't fit, I would scan my own but before installing the ebay gauge I removed the paint off the plastic part of my old gauge, bad move.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Was the picture good enough that you could photo shop it to what you want?  If not, you could just retype the message into a photoshop file and fool with fonts to get something close.

You would need to use a vector-based application like Illustrator vs. Photoshop. The decals on ebay are $25 for the set with free US shipping. They have different options for different gauges (rectangle around trip vs. L-shaped cut-out around trip, etc.). I haven't ordered them so I can't say how nice they are. They look good though. I've read that getting the gauges apart to actually apply the decal is not easy to do so I think I'm just going to get mini gauges and mount them directly to triple tree.
