school me on throttles
« on: July 30, 2012, 11:19:34 PM »
I'm looking for a throttle for my bike, nothing special just anything to use for now. Luckily I have one of the largest used motorcycle parts dealers in my backyard (pinwall cycles) http://stores.ebay.com/PinWall-Cycle-Parts-Inc

I'm using the stock pull throttle cable off my cb750k4. I have a throttle (plus kill switch and starter button) laying around from a Suzuki gs650 but the threads on my throttle cable do not fit that throttle control. I'm wondering how to know what size that is and if all Hondas are the same or what. There doesn't seem to be much cross reference to this and even if you buy a throttle cable from motion pro there is no mention of the thread size or anything.
My project thread:

I can not answer your question directly. I would go on line to Sears or any place that sells tools and buy a thread gauge comes in handy along with a tool to measure the diameter of the screw or bolt. They are both cheap and usefull.

Which Motion Pro throttle cable? They carry many sizes for stock bikes.
10mm is common.

You can use any CB/CL housing that is drilled for push/pull. You may have to mod the wiring.
