Dull Rattle Can Paint
« on: June 24, 2006, 01:06:36 AM »
I’ve just painted my plastic panels with a rattle can but the paint seems a little dull, what should I use to get a gloss finish like the one on my Tank?........Cheers

Its a little hard to tell from a photo. If your coat of paint is thick enough, a cut with cutting compound should bring it up.

IMO, if that's just plain paint, you need to shoot it with three or four (or five or six or...) coats of clear, remove the eggshell with 1500 wet, then polish it with fine compund on an electric polisher.

It was a custom mix by a guy in the paint shop and it is a blob on match for the tank, I've been working the panels, I'll post some pics when I'm done.....cheers
