SL350 cafe racer
« on: August 14, 2012, 03:02:05 PM »
I'm almost finished my present project of CB500/4 into a cafe racer. The next one one the drawing board will be my SL350 cafe.

I've decieded to go with the Airtech Drixton tank and seat combo, with a few high-po motor bits as well.

A couple questions for those who have trodden this path before. What is the best front wheel for the SL350. I beleive the SL rake is longer than the CB, so is a smaller wheel, maybe even a 17 inch the way to go.  :-\

Also, did you stay with the stock fork length, or go to a completely different front end.

My SL350 is a K1 (kick start only). Has anyone put rearsets on a K1 and how did you clear the kickstarter.

Any and all info greatly appreciated.  ;D

You can get a kick start lever that swings out past the footpeg or get a folding footpeg.
18" wheels seem to work well.
The SL frame is the choice frame for 350 racers. Check those bikes for rearset mods.
