shinko "tubeless" tires on 76 cb550
« on: April 13, 2012, 12:51:25 PM »
I've seen on the forum that lots of people favor the shinko 712 tires ad have used them on CB550s.

i guess you use the inner tube even though the tire is a "tubeless" tire, huh?

You must always use tubes with spoked wheels.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Yup have those same tires on my 750 right now.  They seem to do the job just fine, Plenty of grip, wear seems plenty good enough, especially for the price.

I am a big fan of those tires. Bought them on a whim for my cb550 and enjoyed them so put them on my cb750 as well.

Hi,
I am thinking about getting the same tires for 75 cb550. They don't make the correct size of 90-90/19 for the front. The closest they have is 100-90-19 is this what you guys have ran? Im just asking because I see on other threads talking about tires people say running an oversize tire affects the tire wear and handling of the bike negatively. Is this such a small amount over that it wont affect anything? Also if this is what you guys ran did you stick with the 100/90-18 rear tire or move up to the 110/90-18 ? Thanks for the help guys.

i used these:

1 x SHINKO 712 110/90-18 REAR (87-4150)
1 x SHINKO 712 100/90-19 FRONT (87-4141)

put em on a few months ago and everything has been great with them so far.

Thanks Nilsey, Thats what I was wondering. I was going to go with the Avon 90/90-19 front and 100/90-19 rear because I know they are great tires but I am trying to build this bike on a tight budget and the Shinko tires are so much cheaper! I have also read plenty of good reviews on the Shinko tires.
