FRONT FORK/UPPER TUBES?
« on: June 27, 2006, 03:20:37 PM »
Hi All,

My '74 CB750 K4 is in need of upper tubes for the front forks.

I wanted to get Honda OEM tubes/tube kit for the replacement job.  All I can locate through dealers on the web is "repro" parts or, as David Silver Spares says, "pattern" parts.

Anyone try these pattern parts or repros?  I have heard some bad things about some of the "replica" parts.  Since these will be front end suspension/chassis parts I am a little leary with possible cheapies.........  Any experience with these or thoughts?...... Will be glad to listen...

Get ahold of Tom (ElCheapo) at Anubis Cycle. I am sure he can get you some good used tubes for your project....

Link to his site is in my signature......

Try Forks By Frank...he's been making them since Soichiro was a pup...any length you want...and you can get them chromed or unchromed...he used to be very reasonable...

...but then pretty much anyone is reasonable compared to the dealers...   ::)

Whatever Dave Silver sells will be good quality. He has too good a reputation to do anything else. Pattern can mean same as original but made by another factory OR Crap made in Taiwan ALTHOUGH i have had excelant quality Taiwanese parts as well!

Hey Guys,

     Thanks for your input guys.

I did contact Forks by Frank.  He still custom makes the tubes and has some "stock" ones to replace mine made up and in stock now.  Puppytrax - - - - - his current price now is $215 per set and $22 for shipping.

I have to think about this some more........ but, I do appreciate what you guys have said.
