I got a little more aggressive with it and got the front wheel in the air a few times haha. Then I did smell my clutch giving up

 Before you get to the midspeed of 1st gear, dont let go of the clutch... as long as you still have it taut, you have control (it can be fully out at this point).. if you are not still connected to the clutch, and wheelspin, or wheelie.. you will lose that race...

Best advise I can give is to have fun and find someone slower, older with less experience in the other lane that will make you look good.   And remember, old bikes are fragile as are there old riders.  Be safe..........Stickman
