1974 fork ears
« on: September 25, 2012, 08:46:41 PM »
Anybody know a source for new fork ears.

Ron Ayers list the left side for $61 but there's no listing for the right side. Anything off ebay would probably be as bad as what I've already got.

Parts wanted down towards the  the bottom of the page, or just keep looking on flea bay. I found some really nice used ones for my scrambler.

These were purchased off ebay as well. Just have to be patient.

Yeah, make sure you blow up the photos posted and they show details of the finish so you aren't disappointed. If yours aren't bent, then they could be stripped and powdercoated or ceramic coated, not stock but nicer than rusty pitted chrome.
I have a nice replacement left but can't find a right yet.

I checked and Ron Ayers does NOT have any fork ears, right or left and isn't going to be getting any. With the exception of ebay there aren't any fork ears to be had. Mine look better than anything I've seen on ebay. As a matter of fact I'm amazed at the poor/terrible condition of some of the stuff that is offered for sale there.

With the exception of very minor rust mine are ok. I'm going to paint them black.

BTW, if anyone wants to remove the fork ear reflectors don't try to unscrew the nut on the inside of the fork ear. It's a welded item. Just unscrew the reflector itself and it comes right off.
