Last year I decided it would be good for my 11YO son to learn about mechanics and motorcycles by working on a CB550 café project. I would let him do all the work he could do without risking him getting hurt or doing damage (excessive). We found a ’75 CB550 non-runner in process. He completely disassembled and then went about de-tabbing the frame, sawing off the rear rails for the new frame loop and tacking in the new rear frame loop. We had Brad at Speedzone here in the San Diego area take care of powder coating the frame in spraying the paint. Brad did an awesome job.
Still need to wire the bike, rebuild the carbs, sort the front brake, chain, headlight, turn signals, etc.
