Stefan Reisten's Honda

Perusing some old pics I came upon these which I took at Santa Pod. Not sure of the year, but probably 1978 or 1979

Eric, Re Stefan Reisten, I've put out some feelers and I am almost sure that that was the guy that came talking to Billy and myself at Valdosta.

I believe Stefan was the first man in Europe to run a 7 over the quater mile, achieved at Drachten in Holland over the weekend 9th/10th August 1980. Henk Vink also ran a 7 at the same meeting, just a matter of a few minutes later, but got a quicker time. I was there with my supercharged Triumph, I lost out in the final round of my particular bracket with a 10.14 / 228kph. All good spiffing fun.

Sam wasn't that the guy that you and I talked too about how he use to go over to England
in the early 80s and run top fuel?

Hi Jimmy, I got this from Bo Thorselius in Sweden, seems the guy that came talking to us might have been Jesper Schoug.

Stefan Reisten was not at Valdosta. Jesper Schoug who bought Stefan's Honda Nitro CB750 (970cc) was there. It might have been him talking to you. He raced that bike successfully and then sold it to a guy in Norway.
Jan Andersson in Sweden built another CB750 SOHC. Billet cases, cylinder block and head(!). 1200 cc. Run in the 7.30's. Unless somebody in Australia or South Africa built and raced one with a screw blower, this would be the quickest CB750 SOHC based single motor bike ever run.

I found some more info on Jesper that stated he did in fact race the Stefan Reisten bike at Santa Pod in England.
