Ek x ring chain
« on: July 10, 2006, 08:08:39 PM »
Its been awhile since I've posted, been busy.
The EK 530 x-ring chain and sprocket set I ordered from Dennis Kirk came in the mail today with a rivet style master link, ordered the screw type master link today and should see it this weekend.
My question is does anyone have experience with this master link? the tech guys are gone for the night at DK and I'm concerned with clearance issues.
Thanks in advance guys.
I farted and made my son cry.

Don't know what bike you have. Clearance is a problem for some "O" ring chains as they are a bit wider than standard chains. For my CB 500 I installed an "O" ring chain and ran into interference with the clutch mechanism with the removable link.  I had to get a rivitable link to correct the problem.  Motion Pro makes a fine riviting tool for drive chains.

Didnt want to start a new thread for an old topic;

Does it matter what brand/company the rivet master link is? Im getting an RK chain from LFU and Im not 100% sure it comes with the rivet link, can i get a D.I.D. rivet master link?

Thanks
