Just ordered a lightsaber.I'm positively certain I shouldn't have bought the .44 magnum. next thing I'm getting is the stormtrooper uniform. I've always wanted one now that I can afford one I'm getting it. Life is good when you never grow up mentally. I think I'll stay 10 yrs old forever

When I was a kid I always wanted a Sheridan pellet rifle but had to settle for much cheaper Daisy or Crossman BB/pellet guns so when I was in my early 20's I finally got one even though I really had no use for it. I still have it but getting pellets for it takes a bit more effort to find because it takes a .20 caliber pellet rather than the normal .177 caliber pellet.

the .20 caliber pellets isn't that what they used at carnaviles for the shooting range.

I have a single shot, bolt action Sheridan, and I'd swear it is 177.  I haven't had it out in years.  The last time I did, I noticed that the o-ring(I think) that holds the round in place is gone, and if you tip the barrel towards the ground, the round slides out.

Mine's single shot bolt action as well called a "blue streak" and I know for sure mine's a .20 cal. Sheridan may have made a .177 cal as well but I can't say for sure so you might want to dbl check yours. I imagine it probably could shoot a .177 pellet but the smaller size pellet probably doesn't seal itself as well in the barrel and loose potential velocity.

Made me dig it out.  First, what I thought was 177, isn't.  I have some 177, and it's way small.  And mine is a Blue Streak, and it says on it "5M/M Cal", which must be what I have for it.  I also have a 22 cal pellet pistol, a "Webley Mark I".  The 177 and the 22 pellets have some shape to them(curves), while the 5 mm stuff is somewhat straight with a cone tip.  In this pic, first column, third one down;



The ammo I have is no longer in it's original box, so I don't know exactly what it is.  Where I got the pic said this was all 5 MM pellets, but I saw 4.5MM,and 5.5MM elsewhere, so I may have the 4.5, which would explain the falling out thing.  I'll have to get some true 5 MM stuff and compare it to what I already have.

It's kinda sad, really.  I don't remember the wood being in such bad shape.  Looks like I have another restoration project.

Yep the 5mm is also the .20cal pellet, I had a box of Sheridan pellets and it said both 5mm and .20cal. the .20cal/5mm pellets aren't hard to find just not nearly as convenient to find as a .177 pellet. I have to go to a local gun shop to get mine.

Ok this sucks you guys got me looking for my can of old pellets. I have a can of .22 caliber pellets and I can't find them it was a very week pellet you put into a .22 when you shot it you practically see the pellet come out of the gun. it was used for basement target practice.

Trust me, you pump a Sheridan up about 8 pumps and it'll pop that pellet out in a hurry.

Jamesb, a stormtrooper didn't carry a .44 magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and dirty Harry didn't have a light saber. Where you able to watch either movie in it's entirety? And I have to agree with you on that storm trooper outfit, looks pretty cool, does it offer protection? Does anyone else ride darning such clothing? You could be starting a new trend.....or planning a bank heist.
  Either way, it is  funny how we identify ourselves with certain items, and you know, we just don't feel complete until these items are obtained.

What sucks, James, is that I've gone off and joined yet another forum, bringing the total to 20.  Bailgangs first mention of the Sheridan made me dig it out. I then started thinking(dangerous indeed) and before I realized, had found and joined a forum dedicated to airguns.  And like my bikes, all 3 of my airguns are vintage, with the Sheridan being the newest(my recollection is it's from the mid to late 60s).

I have one of the .45  looking pistols and it's not much good for target practice, but it keeps the squirrels off the bird feeders if you aim high.

 When I was a kid I wanted a R.C. Cobra motor with Webers,  got most of it now just need to put it together.. Even though Mike says it ain't the best idea..
 But I am a slow learner, once I finish that dream,  then maybe I can do none up better.. Till then be happy to have an "only a Cobra motor"
