That's about 1/3 of what it's worth. You couldn't even have this one for $10,000, this one just bought $12,500 on Ebay.

The only parts on my bike that aren't original or NOS are the seat and pipes and tires. I could have put it together for a lot less using buttloads of reproduction parts. :)

Looks amazing Guts, great work.

What did you do with the engine? Mind posting a project recap?

Yeah the price has gone up fast on those and of course root beer first year brings a premium. A guy in my area recently got $12,500 for an original paint 1975 Z1B. I gotta get mine restored sometime.

Here is some of the restoration details. I had to rebuild the switch houses and wiring harnesses, they were shot. All of the original date coded parts are still on the bike. I do all of my own work except for chrome. I replated most of the original hardware and the spokes and nipples. It would take a while to post all the pictures but here is a few.

The engine was completely rebuilt(including valve guides).

Thanks for the compliments fellas. :) I started working on the bike in January, hauled the parts out to the garage a month ago and if not for waiting for the rims to come back the second time I would have had it together in a week, instead it took four weeks to assemble.

GUTS - I see a Triple is the background, whats the story with that?

And BTW - the guy who posted "nice bike but it's not a Triple" is an idiot! [on the Triples forum] He is obviously jealous.

That is some amazing work there. Many congrats. What brand of black paint did you apply to the cases / block and what was your technique for the silver edge finish on the block / head fins?

I used PJ1 Black Satin engine paint and used a small file and sandpaper to dress the edges. You can see where the factory did a quick grind and you just re-do it.
