CB500 Headlight bulb replacement
« on: February 26, 2013, 01:57:22 pm »
Hello all,
Need some knowledge. I have a 71 cb500 that has been electrically hacked to death by the previous owner.
Just to let you know the power draws on the bike. there are no turn signals (yet) and the only other light is the break light.
SO here is my problem.:
The headlight is not a sealed beam, but a bulb in a housing. What bulb can I put in there?

Thanks much for the help,
Patrick

H4 bulb. I use a 60/55w.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I use a 35/35W H4 it has less draw and is on par with the OEM bulb for light output. i think i paid a total of $38 for 7" motorcycle lens and H4 bulb that was a direct swap.

You really should fix that break light of yours, I am sure Johhny Law would not like a broken light.

I like Sylvania Silver Star Ultras.  They emit a less yellow looking light and seem to project a little better but don't consume any more power.  And they are only marginally more $ than a run of the mill H4. YMMV

Someone makes a green bulb that uses less power makes good light and sells cheap on Amazon. Sylvania?
