dhall57,

I will use my amazing abilities to tell you what the response will be from the seller about having somebody in Galveston look at the bike and pay cash:

"I'm so sorry, but the bike has already been taken by the shipper.  It is crated and is being stored in their warehouse and I can no longer get to the bike.  I did this because I work on a cruise ship and I am often out of town and I wanted to be able to ship it immediately.  The bike is as described and the shipper only needs for me to give them the shipping address and they will ship it immediately.  They are also charging me $20 per day to keep the bike in storage, which is another reason why the price is so low.  I just want to sell it so it stops costing me money".

At least that was the response I got when I offered to have somebody locally look at the BMW I was trying to buy...

I have a terribly bruised 1990 Honda Hawk GT that I'll take 2200 for.  Just send me the money and I'll ship it to you free of charge.

Sorry to hear of your crash.    I hope you are not injured.

No matter how much it sucks, bikes can be repaired or replaced, but when our bodies are broken, it can be much longer and harder to get back to "normal", if we can at all.

Thanks Jas.  I'm ok and the bike will be covered by insurance.  My gear prevented serious injury.

All good to hear, and a good reminder to the rest of us to wear AGATT.

Ride safe,
Jay
