Was up late the other night just looking around the internet for bikes and ran across a 1970 750KO for sale, but not on ebay or CL but some other listing site. I received this email in responce back from my email wanting more info on the bike. Never really thought I would here anything back, but this is what showed up on my email today. Im not a rocket scientist, but looks very suspicious to me, what do you think ::) ::)

Hello and thanks for your interest, the bike is still for sale. I have the title in hand so I'm ready for a quick deal. I have dropped my price to $2,200, since this is an Urgent Sale! All documents, including owner’s manual, clear title and a bill of sale on your name will be provided along with the bike. I'm forced to sell it a.s.a.p. because I work on a cruise ship now and I'm offshore most of the time. The bike is in Galveston, TX but if you are serious about buying, I will ship it for no extra cost and would like to close the deal through eBay's Vehicle Protection Program because it offers protection for both of us. Unfortunately I can't use my cell at work but I will have access to my email.

I have had responses to ad inquiries with identical wording before, except with a different location and excuse.

Never heard of the cruise ship ruse yet. Wonder if there is a book out there like Spamming for Dummies that list all the different ones for these crooks  ::)  Interweb is full of pitfalls out there.

I guarantee you it's a fraud.  I had the same wording (including price, eBay vehicle protection, and cruise ship info) on a 72 BMW R75 I was looking at.  For my own amusement I had them send me the invoice and it was a spoofed eBay invoice (real EBay image references but a fake web URL) that wanted payment via MoneyGram.  The payment was to go to somebody in New Orleans (even though the bike was supposed to be in Houston).  I forwarded on the invoice to eBay's fraud department and contacted the classified service (oodle, I think) to let them know it was a fraud.

Here is eBay's warning about the fraud: http://reviews.ebay.com/Scam-Alert-Craigslist-AutoTrader-eBay-Motors-Car-Scams?ugid=10000000011673463

When I read it it was a Yamaha VMax and the owner worked for unicef. she needed the cash for hungry kids. Look around the ad will appear multiple in cities

Tell them to send you another picture with your name written on a piece of paper laying on the seat and the current date and see if they can provide that.    On another note, not that I like them but wonder what brand those tires are ?

Always bugs me when manufacturers put "turbo" on anything that isn't a turbocharger or turbo charged, guess they think we're stupid?

That's nothing. No joke cut and pasted this. Emailed about a 4-runner last week and received this back.

Hi,
Sorry for delay,The truck (1997 Toyota 4Runner Limited) is in perfect condition, no electric problems, no accidents/liens/loans. No scratches. I have all the truck manuals, title, documents. I'm selling this truck because my child of only 25 died 4 months ago in a car accident,a drunk driver hit him and his fiance. He was with his fiance's car coming to our home at his little brother birthday of 14 years old. The truck belonged to my son and it brings me bad memories and that's the reason I want to sell it.The final price is $1,730. Me and my husband travel a lot with our job (we work on a cruise ship) and we want to make this deal through eBay's Buyer Protection Program. I just need your full name, full shipping address, home/cell # so I can open a case.(with no further obligation or fees). eBay will contact you with all the Transaction/shipping details you will need.We will take care of the shipping so don't worry.
We hope to hear soon from you.

P.S. Let me know if you want more photos
Thank you for your interest!

I sent a second email a few days ago saying: I had a friend near the Galveston area that could come look at the bike and if everything checked out he would pay you cash money for it and my buddy would arrange to get it the bike to me so he (the seller)would not have to go the hassle of shipping it to me. No reply so far ::) ::)
