4-2 Exhaust Assembly
« on: March 20, 2013, 02:57:39 PM »
I'm installing a stock 4-2 on my cb550. Problem is, previous owner removed the headers from the mufflers, and threw them all into a box without marking them. So, now I have no clue. I've tried different combinations but none some to line up right.

So, can someone snap a picture or tell me the easiest way to identify them? Thanks!

I have a 4 into two and the longer headers with a slight bend in the tip are the inboard two the outside ones were interchangeable. I fitted the inside one with muffler just inside the frame and around the the side stand, inserted the outside one and swung the pipe into the exhaust port on the left side. It should be equally distant from the frame

BTW, no CB550 came with 4-2 mufflers stock; either 4-4 for the "K" models or 4-1 for the "F" bikes. Your 4-2 pipes are some kind of aftermarket setup...

Should've probably said it's from a 500. Thanks!

Same story: the 500 only had 4-4 pipes.
