Need some advice
« on: March 27, 2013, 05:12:36 PM »
My '74 750 came with a comstar rear wheel.  One of the first things I've wanted to do since I bought it last year was go back to stock.  Found a pretty clean replacement from a user here, but it'll be respoked along with the front.  The rim itself had some minor pitting that wouldn't clean up, and I've finally given up finding a cheap replacement and will pony up another $150 for a nos one on fleebay.

On to my question.  Is it just a given for me to change the bearings?  Specifically, do I need to replace the cush drive bearings which still look clean and well lubricated?  I don't want to worry about the rear wheel seizing on the highway, so will probably do the wheel bearings with an allballs kit, but what about the cush drive?

This is not something I would do the winter green treatment on.
